Avid hiker, Eagle Scout, founder of a successful mutual fund, winner of the coveted Mathematics and Science Award from the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Steven Burgauer lives in Illinois with his family. A graduate of Illinois State University, Mr. Burgauer currently writes science fiction and teaches Business Finance for Eureka College, the alma mater of former President Ronald Reagan, and for Bradley University.
In addition to writing science fiction, Mr. Burgauer has written extensively on business topics in the fields of investment management, finance, and economics. He recently completed work on an investment primer, THE WEALTH BUILDER'S GUIDE.
His science fiction titles include: FORNAX (1994), THE BRAZEN RULE (1995), THE LAST AMERICAN (1996), IN THE SHADOW OF OMEN (1997), and THE GRANDFATHER PARADOX (1998). His work has been mentioned in both LOCUS and SCIENCE FICTION CHRONICLE. His books have been reviewed in the Bradley SCOUT, the PEORIA JOURNAL STAR, and PROMETHEUS, the journal of the Libertarian Futurist Society. His book, IN THE SHADOW OF OMEN, was the Barnes & Noble online book of the week in October 1997. Mr. Burgauer's published short stories include: "Monopoly," published in 1999 by The Harrow, "Sane Lou," published in 1998 by VISIONAIR magazine, "Prairie Dawgs," published by the Pekin Daily Times in 1998 as part of the serial mystery NAKED CAME THE FARMER, and "White is the Color of Evil," published by the Eureka Literary Magazine in 1995.
